Bowling Tournament raises more than $8,000 for Get Out the Vote

An update from the Montgomery County Republican Party (MCRP) Fundraising Team
The Montgomery County Republican Party is fresh off its first successful Get-Out-the-Vote (GOTV) Bowling Tournament Fundraiser held on April 30. Over 60 enthusiastic bowlers and many more onlookers participated in this fun event that often got boisterous with excitement as several teams competed for the top prize. Prizes also were awarded for second and third place team scores, as well as the individual high score (a shotgun)! You can see how close the top two team scores were:
Funds Raised
In all, over $8,000 net was realized by the party for this first-ever bowling event! Although our County Chairman Bryan Christ encouraged people not to attend, that didn’t dissuade bowlers and some 20-30 other volunteers/attendees from participating. In fact, the amount raised from this event was approximately one-half of that which we spent in our GOTV campaign in last November’s gubernatorial election, which our chairman also refused to support.
Sponsors
Of course, none of this would have been possible without our sponsors who love the Republican Party of Texas principles and want to see the Party succeed at all levels.
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction also lent to the success of the event and was a big hit.
Fundraising Team
The Montgomery County Republican Party would like to thank Fundraising Committee Chair Jackie Williams and her small but hard working group of volunteers who made everything run smoothly, like the pros they are. Everyone in attendance was able to really enjoy themselves, whether bowling or just socializing.
