Call to Action - CISD Board to Vote on Book Oversight Committee

January 16, 2023 | Montgomery County, TX

At tomorrow’s board meeting, the Conroe Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees will consider a board member’s request to serve as a standing member on the Book Reconsideration Committee.

We support this request as it will allow an elected board member direct oversight of inappropriate books and input at the board level. We need elected representatives to serve on the Book Reconsideration Committee to ensure our values are being represented and to protect our children.

The board will also be discussing the reconsideration of The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. The board needs to know our community does not want our children being exposed to sexual and inappropriate content.
