Rep. Luttrell named Chairman of Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs HVAC subcommittee

Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) today was named Chairman of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Rep. Luttrell also serves as a Member on the House Armed Services Committee and Committee on Homeland Security.
“I’m honored to have been selected to serve as Chairman of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs subcommittee,” said Rep. Luttrell. “As a disabled veteran myself, I understand and appreciate the challenges our service members face once they’ve returned home. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and under the leadership of Chairman Bost to effectively lead on the crucial work ahead of us to better serve our veterans.”

The Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs has legislative, oversight, and investigative jurisdiction over compensation; general and special pensions of all the wars of the United States; life insurance issued by the government on account of service in the Armed Forces; cemeteries of the United States in which veterans of any war or conflict are or may be buried, whether in the United States or abroad, except cemeteries administered by the Secretary of the Interior; burial benefits; the Board of Veterans' Appeals; and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
