State Party Chairman Issues Statement Confirming the Correct Temporary Chairs for Senatorial District Conventions
March 13, 2024 | MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX
“For God is not the God of confusion but of peace.” 1 Corinthians 14:33
After repeated unsuccessful efforts by State Party Chairman Matt Rinaldi to compel Chairman Bryan Christ to cooperate so that the Senatorial District Meetings could be scheduled in a cooperative manner and in accordance with Texas Election Code 171.054, Chairman Rinaldi eventually called the meetings for Senate Districts (SD) 4, 7, and 18 in compliance with the Texas Election Code.
At those SD Caucus Meetings, which took place on December 5, 2023, at the KC Event Hall in Conroe, Temporary Chairs were elected and this should have concluded this matter. However, lacking any authority whatsoever under the law or under party rules to do so, Chairman Christ then presumed to call his own SD Caucus Meetings to have his splinter group elect their own Temporary Chairs.
Because Chairman Christ and his team are now causing discord and confusion by claiming to be the official Temporary Chairs of the Senatorial Districts, Chairman Rinaldi has issued a letter confirming that the correct Temporary Chairs for the Senatorial District Conventions are as follows:
SD 4: Dale Inman
SD 7: Dennis Tibbs
SD 18: Lauren Vickers
SD Convention attendees should be aware that there is a process for selecting a Permanent Chair at the Senatorial District Meeting, so if anyone wants to challenge one of the Temporary Chairs and run to be elected as Permanent Chair, there is a proper way to do so. But simply “insisting” that you are the Temporary Chair is not the way to go about it.
Unfortunately, Chairman Christ and his cohorts who are claiming to be Temporary Chairs continue to be uncooperative with the actual Temporary Chairs and this is making the process unnecessarily contentious and cumbersome for Mr. Inman, Mr. Tibbs, and Mrs. Vickers, and all those involved in the SD Conventions planning.
I would like to assure all of the delegates attending the SD Conventions that anyone disrupting the convention will be swiftly dealt with in accordance with party rules and local and state laws.
Sincerely,
Jon P. Bouché, Vice Chairman
Montgomery County Republican Party
